Vocational and
Technical Skills
Market ready trades that open doors. Hands on, certified trade training in sectors with genuine local demand. We create sustainable employment and self employment pathways in communities that have been left behind.
A certified skill is one of the most reliable pathways out of poverty
Across Africa's most vulnerable communities, unemployment is not a talent problem. It is a certification problem. The trades exist. The demand exists. What is missing is structured, market aligned training with credentials that employers and buyers recognize and trust.
For youth exiting conflict zones, for people living with HIV/AIDS seeking dignified work, and for households trapped in extreme poverty, a nationally recognized vocational certificate is transformative. It signals competence. It unlocks employment. It provides the foundation for self employment.
We do not just teach a trade. We certify it. We connect it to real markets. We equip graduates with the business and employability skills to sustain income from it for years. This is not charity. This is capability building.
Six Market Driven Trade Tracks
Every trade track is selected based on local market demand analysis. We train for jobs and contracts that actually exist in your community. No guesswork. No dead ends.
Tailoring and Garment Production
Master industrial sewing, pattern making, and garment finishing. Graduates secure school uniform contracts, open tailoring shops, or sell through online fashion markets.
Carpentry and Furniture Making
Learn hand tool and machine carpentry, furniture design, and eco friendly bamboo production. Demand is high for local and export markets.
Solar Installation and Electrical
Hands on training in solar panel installation, wiring, and maintenance. This is one of Africa's fastest growing technical sectors with chronic skills shortages.
Eco Friendly Production
Produce reusable bags, recycled material crafts, and sustainable packaging. Tap into the rapidly growing demand for green products across Africa.
Machine Operation and Repair
Train on industrial sewing machines, agricultural equipment, and basic automotive mechanics. This track leads directly to formal employment.
Construction and Masonry
Master brick laying, plastering, tiling, and construction project basics. The building sector is booming and certified masons are in high demand.
Training on real tools, in real production environments
One of the biggest barriers to vocational skills uptake is that graduates leave training with knowledge but no access to equipment. ActionPath Africa solves this by establishing shared production workspaces equipped with industrial tools, machines, and materials. You learn on the same machines you will use to earn.
From Raw Potential to Certified Professional
A six stage pathway that transforms community members into credentialed, market connected tradespeople. Each step builds on the last until you are ready to earn.
Trade and Market Assessment
We identify which trades have genuine local demand before training begins. No hypothetical jobs. No wasted effort. We train for markets that actually exist.
Accredited Partner Enrollment
Participants enroll at accredited TVET institutions where ActionPath subsidizes fees and provides psychosocial support alongside technical training.
Practical Workshops
Hands on production in ActionPath shared workspaces equipped with industrial tools. This bridges the gap between classroom knowledge and real work.
Business and Employability Skills
Alongside the trade, participants learn CV writing, basic bookkeeping, customer service, and workplace communication. We produce complete professionals.
Market Showcase and Job Linking
A graduation showcase where local employers, buyers, and community leaders see participants' work and make direct hiring or purchase commitments.
Post Graduation Support
Shared workspace access, peer networks, and quarterly check ins for 18 months after graduation. We stay with you until you are earning.
Built on a Four Partner Model
Successful vocational training requires more than a classroom. Our four partner model connects training to certification, employment, markets, and infrastructure. No single organization can do this alone.
TVET Institutions
Nationally accredited technical vocational colleges delivering certified curriculum that employers trust.
Local Employers
Manufacturing, construction, and service sector companies that are actively hiring trained graduates.
Buyer Networks
Tailoring cooperatives, furniture buyers, and eco product distributors purchasing graduate output at fair prices.
Tool Suppliers
Equipment partners providing machines, tools, and shared production workspace infrastructure.
Outcomes That Open Doors
Nearly all graduates leave with nationally recognized vocational certificates from accredited partner institutions. This credential opens doors.
Three quarters of graduates secure formal employment or launch self employment within half a year of certification. Your skill pays.
Graduates retain access to ActionPath production workspaces with industrial tools for their first 18 months. Keep practicing. Keep earning.
More than half of vocational training graduates are women. We are directly addressing gender gaps in technical employment, one workshop at a time.
We track graduate employment status, income levels, and enterprise formation at 3, 6, and 12 months post graduation. This ensures accountability to both participants and program funders. We measure what matters.
Stories of Skill and Independence
"I learned carpentry through ActionPath. Within three months of graduating I had my first furniture contract with a local school. Today I run my own workshop with two employees. This program changed my life."
"As a woman in a male dominated trade, ActionPath gave me both the skills and the confidence. I now install solar panels for households in three counties. Nobody doubts my work anymore. I am proof that women belong in every trade."
Designed for communities where employment barriers are highest
Vocational training is most transformative in communities where structural barriers (conflict, disease, poverty) have made formal employment or self employment feel out of reach. We go where the need is greatest and the opportunities are real.
